Terms and conditions

Thank you for choosing Meows and Growls to groom your pet.

Please take a moment to read the terms and conditions that will help us run our stress free salon and enable us to maintain safety of all pets within our salon.

1- We appreciate 24hours notice if you need to cancel you appointment.

2- Your pet is fit and healthy- Grooming of sick or elderly dogs is entirely at the owners risk. Grooming may expose underling skin or health conditions that we can not be held responsible for.

3- Your pet is vaccinated up to date: An un-vaccinated pet puts itself and others at risk.

4- It must be clearly understood and agreed that whilst every care and attention is given to your pet accidents can and my occur and they are accepted at the owners risk.

5- Payments will be made on collection of your pet. Our prices are based on an average groom but owners must remember that some pets require extensive extra work.

6- Shaving of dogs will dramatically change their appearance. Hair will be very short and close to the skin therefore it may expose pre existing conditions. We will require written permission to shave off you pets fur close to the skin.

7- We reserve the right to refuse a Dog or Cat that presents risk of injury to itself or others.

8- Any fleas found on your pet on the pre-groom consultation will be sent home for treatment.

9- We do not accept pets that are under sedation for grooming under any circumstances.

10- Pregnant dogs- Whilst every care is taken with every dog, bitches that are pregnant are accepted for grooming at the owners risk.

11- Challenging behaviour- Some pets may require a longer appointment time, due to nervous or challenging behaviour. We will advise the owner of any alteration in charges before we begin the groom.

12- Aggressive Dogs and Cats- While we will always try and work with a aggressive pet, under extreme circumstances we reserve the right to halt the grooming process should the pet become aggressive to the point of it putting others and it’s self at risk.

13- Health matters- It is important that you inform us of any health problems that your pet may have, particular epilepsy diabetes, arthritis, heart conditions, skill allergy’s and aches and pains. We examine your pet for lumps and bumps in the health check before the groom. Should anything be found we will notify you upon collection. The heath of each pet matters to us and we reserve the right to refuse or stop a groom if we consider the pet too ill to proceed.

14- Styling- While every effort is made to achieve the requested style by the owner this can not always be achieved, this can be due to coat type, pets behaviour or tolerance so please keep this in mind.

15- Matted coat- Attempting to brush out heavy matting could lead to a great deal of discomfort and stress to your pet. Instead we will always advise a close clipping to remove the matted and damaged coat. We would require your  permission on a signed consent form before we begin the groom. An extra charge of £10.00 would be applied on top of the regular groom.

16- In the event of an accident or injury we will carry out pet first aid on your Dog/Cat but in the event that the pet can not be treated within the salon, the owner will be contacted to take it to the vets. In the event that the owner can not be contacted the pet will be taken to the nearest vets by Meows and Growls.

During the grooming process Meows and Growl grooming boutique will take the upmost care to ensure the health, safety and well-being of your pet is always our first priority, however accidents may vary and occasionally happen. Pets can be very fidgety so there is always that small possibility that your pet may get nicked/cut. This can also happen due to a pets pre existing conditions e.g. nicked warts, scabs, skin tags. It must be stressed that such accidents are extremely rare but there is a minimal risk involved within grooming.

The terms and conditions must be understood and acknowledged.
